Operations and performance

Operations is where strategy meets the cost of actually running the business. We work on how the company delivers its product or service, and what it costs to do so.
What this involves

The work inside operations and performance.

Cost and productivity

We find where money and effort leak across the operation, and rebuild the processes behind it, so the same output costs less.

Supply chain and procurement

We work on sourcing, supplier terms, inventory, and the flow of goods, from raw input to the customer's hands.

Service and quality

We raise the reliability of what the business delivers, and reduce the rework, returns, and complaints that quietly cost margin.

Working capital

We free the cash trapped in inventory and receivables, and tighten the cycle between spending and getting paid.

Our approach

On the floor, in the detail.

We spend time where the work happens, in the plant, the branch, or the back office, because operating problems are rarely visible from a spreadsheet alone. We measure what is actually going on before we change it.

The changes have to hold once we leave, so we build them into how the work is done and how it is measured, and we train the people who will carry them.

When we are called in

The situations behind this work.

Margins are thinning and no one can say exactly where.
Cost has crept up through growth and has never been reset.
The operation cannot keep up with demand, or falls over when it spikes.
Cash is tight even though the business is profitable on paper.
