Project Heirs · Atlanta

We build infrastructure for buildings, power, water, networks and compute.

One company in each domain: Build, Energy, Water, Connectivity and Compute. All five start in metro Atlanta, where 4 Seasons field crews work today and the first Current, Flow and Relay devices are in development.

  • Build Crews on real streets
  • Energy 500, 230 and 115 kV lines
  • Water Towers and tanks
  • Connectivity Towers and mesh links
  • Compute Readings to Groundwork

01 · Build · 4 Seasons

We wrote the software for every step of it, from the price to the crew's pay.

06 · Pay

An approved step goes into the crew's pay ledger, and each payment has a receipt with the photos behind it.

Design render of the Current Hub, a square graphite unit with a round readout, mounted on a painted wall beside the electrical panel, its conduit running into the panel's side
02 · Energy · CurrentDesign render · in development

It mounts beside the electrical panel and runs the water heater and cooling on the cheapest hours of a time-of-use rate.

Film · Energy · CurrentIllustrative loads and prices

04 · The bill

The house gets the same hot water and comfort, bought on cheaper hours. The numbers are illustrative.

Design render of the Flow Node, a graphite valve body on the copper water main along a block wall, with the water heater out of focus behind it
03 · Water · FlowDesign render · in development

It measures every gallon where the main enters the house and closes its own valve on a leak, with or without a network.

Film · Water · FlowIllustration

06 · Gallons lost

About 8 gallons lost, against about 1,090 if nobody notices until 7 am. The numbers are illustrative.

Design render of the Relay Node, a graphite box with a perforated front, on an oak wall shelf beside its external antenna
04 · Connectivity · RelayDesign render · in development

It holds fiber or cable, two cell networks, a neighborhood mesh and satellite, and it switches between them on its own.

05 · Online

The house stays online through all three failures. This is the planned behavior, shown as an illustration.

05 · Compute · Groundwork

Groundwork starts from the 4 Seasons software and will keep the record of each house.

Film · Compute · GroundworkIllustration

04 · The record

Groundwork keeps one record per house, by domain. The events here are an illustration.

The utilities' networks end at the meters, and the five systems past them are the owner's.

Left of the dashed line is the utilities' network. Right of it is the owner's, and that is where we work.

07 · The fleet

Each one is in development and none has shipped. These are design renders, and each turns in 3D.

There are eleven founding roles, and most of the work is in Atlanta.
